Govt Pledges to Safeguard Minority Sacred Sites in Pakistan: Sajid


Lahore: Government is committed to protect the minorities’ sacred places in Pakistan. This was stated by the Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board Sajid Mahmood Chohan while addressing the one hundred and eighty-sixth death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore on Sunday.



According to Radio Pakistan, Sajid Mahmood Chohan expressed dismay over India’s behavior for not allowing Sikh yatrees to visit their religious places in Pakistan. He emphasized that the Sikh community is a proud part of Pakistan and highlighted that scholarships are being provided to local Sikh youth. Chohan reiterated that the protection of religious freedom and cultural identity of minorities is the government’s top priority.



Speaking on the occasion, former Pardhan, Sardar Bishan Singh expressed sorrow over India’s decision to stop Sikh yatrees from visiting Pakistan. He assured that the Sikh community and other minorities are completely safe in Pakistan.
