Govt Plans New N-15 Highway from Mansehra to China Border

Islamabad: Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has announced plans for the construction of a new highway, N-15, stretching from Mansehra to the China border. This development was disclosed during a high-level meeting of the National Highway Authority in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the proposed N-15 highway will link the regions of Mansehra, Naran, Jalkhad, and Chilas, serving as an alternative route to the existing Karakoram Highway. Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized that the highway would remain accessible year-round, which is expected to alleviate travel difficulties and boost winter tourism in the Northern Areas.

The minister instructed officials to expedite the feasibility and assessment reports for the N-15 project. He also tasked National Highway Authority officers with planning for complementary infrastructure, such as resorts, hotels, lake-view points, and shopping areas, along the highway to promote tourism and economic growth in the region.
