Govt Initiatives to Regularize Pakistani Zaireen Discussed by Minister Yousaf and Iranian Ambassador


Islamabad: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has announced that the government is actively working on measures to regularize the visits of Pakistani Zaireen to Iran and Iraq. This development was revealed during a discussion with Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister disclosed plans for the Pakistani government to soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Iran, which will benefit both Zaireen and those seeking employment opportunities. Additionally, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf announced that Pakistan is set to organize international Quran recitation competitions in November.



During the meeting, Ambassador Moghadam extended his condolences for the recent loss of life and property in Pakistan due to the heavy rains and floods. He reiterated Iran’s solidarity with Pakistan during these challenging times, highlighting their status as brotherly neighboring countries. Furthermore, the Ambassador commended Pakistan’s significant contributions to the fight against terrorism and Islamophobia.



The discussion also covered proposals aimed at eradicating religious intolerance, terrorism, and sectarianism, while fostering interfaith harmony globally. Both parties agreed on the importance of increasing exchanges between scholars and students from religious seminaries to promote both modern and contemporary education.
