Govt Initiates Evacuation of Pakistani Nationals from Iran and Iraq Amid Regional Tensions


ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar announced that the Government is actively taking measures to ensure the safety of Pakistani nationals in Iran and Iraq, given the evolving regional situation.



According to Radio Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister Dar shared via a social media post on X that the evacuation of 450 Pakistani Zaireen from Iran has already been facilitated as of yesterday. Efforts are underway to arrange the safe evacuation of Pakistani students currently residing in Iran.



The Deputy Prime Minister also stated that the Pakistan Embassy in Iraq is maintaining contact with Pakistani Zaireen stranded due to the closure of airspace in the region. Measures are being undertaken to ensure their safety during their stay in Iraq and to explore possible evacuation options.

He emphasized that embassies in the region are diligently coordinating necessary efforts to support Pakistani nationals and Zaireen.
