Govt Drawing Inspiration from China’s Agricultural Growth Model: Tanveer

Islamabad: Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain has stated that the government is drawing inspiration from China's agricultural growth model and has positioned China as a key partner in this sector. He made these remarks while talking to the media in Islamabad today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted that seventy-nine Memorandums of Understanding worth 4.4 billion dollars were signed between Pakistan and China during the recently held China-Pakistan Agri Investment Conference. Among these, the agrochemical and agri-input sector accounted for thirty-seven MoUs, while other key sectors included meat and poultry, dairy, fisheries, aquaculture, and animal feed.

Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized that the government is placing special emphasis on creating opportunities for growth in agriculture. He noted that Pakistan's economic stability and growth are heavily reliant on sustained export growth, particularly from the agricultural sector.

The Minister expressed confidence that Pakistan will continue to achieve success in the agricultural sector, enhance exports, and increase the country's global prestige.
