Islamabad:Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani has affirmed the government's commitment to enhancing the export sector and improving the ease of doing business.

According to Radio Pakistan, the minister expressed these views while leading a consultative meeting of the Prime Minister's Committee to Review the Export Facilitation Scheme in Islamabad.

Kayani encouraged small and medium-sized enterprises involved in exports to fully utilize the Export Facilitation Scheme. He also instructed relevant authorities to clarify and simplify the regulations concerning the import of capital goods and manufacturing machinery for exporters.

The meeting involved a detailed examination of various proposals to streamline the scheme, boost its efficiency, and align it with changing trade dynamics. Additionally, the session included a thorough review of amendments designed to reduce export overheads, promote local value addition, and stimulate domestic manufacturing.

The meeting concluded with a consensus to maintain active consultations with all stakeholders and trade bodies to foster export growth and accelerate national economic activity.
