Rawalpindi: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, has announced that the government is developing a policy aimed at establishing Pharma Parks specifically for pharmaceutical Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to bolster the pharmaceutical industry.
According to Radio Pakistan, Haroon Akhtar Khan made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation of pharmaceutical SMEs in Rawalpindi. The SMEs presented their challenges and operational constraints to the Special Assistant, who assured them of the government’s dedication to resolving their issues in accordance with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision.
Haroon Akhtar Khan emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering pharmaceutical SMEs through targeted reforms and supportive policies. He highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance SMEs’ access to credit by working closely with the banking sector. Additionally, he mentioned that in line with the Prime Minister’s vision to boost local vaccine manufacturing, the National Vaccine Policy is nearing its final stages of development.
