Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering women and advancing welfare initiatives to enhance their socio-economic well-being. He made these remarks while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Annual Charity Bazaar 2025, organized by the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFOWA).
According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, along with Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, visited various stalls set up by participating countries at the event. During his address, he highlighted PFOWA’s dedication to humanitarian causes, which he described as service beyond duty and a reflection of the highest values of public responsibility. He noted that the stalls set up by Pakistan’s friendly countries symbolize cooperation and friendship.
The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized that the faith emphasizes the virtue of giving, and the work of PFOWA is a testament to this principle in action. He praised the association for its legacy of generosity, noting that it supports not only families of the Foreign Service but also underprivileged communities across the country. PFOWA’s tangible contributions in education, health, and social welfare were also acknowledged.
Dar highlighted PFOWA’s outreach during recent floods, including contributions to the National Disaster Management Authority, the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, and support for PIMS and Polyclinic hospitals. These efforts demonstrate the organization’s consistent impact on social development and humanitarian service.
Referring to his recent official engagements abroad, Dar mentioned his return from the Meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government in Moscow and the EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum in Brussels. He noted the success of the Pakistan-European Union 7th Strategic Dialogue and nearly two dozen bilateral meetings during his visit to Brussels. He stressed that the work carried out by the Foreign Office’s team in the national interest holds significant value.
