Girdi Jungle Camp of Afghan Refugees Cleared in Chagai District


Chagai: The district administration and Dalbandin Rifles have successfully cleared the Girdi Jungle camp of Afghan refugees in the Chagai district of Balochistan.



According to Radio Pakistan, all refugees have been documented and sent back to Afghanistan. The administration has commenced the demolition of vacated houses and shops within the camp.



The district administration has stated that all actions are in accordance with state policy. The Girdi Jungle camp was the largest refugee camp, previously housing 70,000 Afghan refugees, all of whom have now returned to their homeland.
