Gaza: A Gaza Peace agreement was signed at the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit in Egypt on Monday. US President Donald Trump, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Amir of Qatar Sheikh Thamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed the document that aims at ending the prevailing grave situation in Gaza.
According to Radio Pakistan, during a joint press conference alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi after signing the agreement, US President Donald Trump stated that this peace agreement will usher in peace and stability in the region. He expressed gratitude to the Arab and world leaders who contributed to making this peace agreement possible.
The US President acknowledged the efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehabaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in this regard. He emphasized that a historic change has been achieved in the region with all momentum now directed towards lasting peace and a commitment to fulfilling the Gaza Peace plan.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi lauded the efforts of the US President in ending the tragic war in Gaza. He expressed appreciation for all regional and international partners who contributed to making this agreement possible and reaffirmed support for the execution of the plan.
The Egyptian President reiterated that peace remains the option for his country and other Arab states. He noted that this is an opportunity to free the Middle East from factors that have threatened its stability and progress.
On this occasion, the Egyptian President announced the awarding of Egypt’s highest state honor, the ‘Order of the Nile,’ to US President Donald Trump, recognizing his significant services to mankind.
The signing ceremony was attended by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and other world leaders, including Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif representing Pakistan, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Presidents of Azerbaijan and Indonesia, Prime Ministers of Italy, Spain, and Armenia, along with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
