Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar announced that four perpetrators of the G-11 katchery blast in Islamabad have been apprehended. He briefed the media in Islamabad about the progress in the investigation of the incident.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister stated that the culprits were arrested within forty-eight hours of the incident in a joint intelligence operation conducted by the Intelligence Bureau and the Counter Terrorism Department. The individuals arrested, along with the suicide bomber, were found to have direct connections with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. It was revealed that these militants received training from terror camps located in Afghanistan.
During the briefing, the Minister also presented a confessional video of one of the perpetrators, identified as Sajidullah. Attaullah Tarar explained that the terrorists intended to target a high-value location, but their plans were thwarted due to stringent security measures in the federal capital.
The Minister expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives in the attack, emphasizing that the situation could have been more catastrophic if the suicide bomber had managed to enter the court premises. He reassured that the government is fully committed to ensuring the security of the people and the nation.
He further mentioned that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is placing special emphasis on maintaining law and order. The security forces and law enforcement agencies are actively working to eradicate the threat of terrorism.
