Islamabad: A formal welcome ceremony was held in honour of Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad today. National anthems of the two countries were played, marking the commencement of the event.
According to Radio Pakistan, a smartly turned out contingent of armed forces presented a guard of honour to the visiting dignitary. This ceremonial gesture underscores the importance of the visit and the mutual respect between the two nations.
Following the welcoming ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Tokayev are scheduled to engage in bilateral and delegation-level talks. These discussions are expected to cover a range of topics pertinent to both countries.
Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements in several sectors will also be signed between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, highlighting the commitment to strengthen ties and explore potential areas of cooperation.
