Karachi: First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Vice Minister of Trade of Indonesia Dyah Roro Esti Widya have discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia in diverse areas. The meeting held in Karachi focused on women's empowerment, climate resilience, social welfare, sustainable development, and people-to-people ties.
According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions highlighted climate change as a shared global challenge. Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari emphasized that vulnerable communities are increasingly exposed to extreme weather events. She stressed the importance of climate-resilient, climate-friendly housing solutions, particularly for low-income populations, as a critical tool for disaster preparedness, recovery, and long-term sustainability.
The Indonesian Vice Minister expressed interest in learning from Sindh's experience in large-scale climate-resilient housing and welcomed the opportunity to explore structured cooperation in this area.
