First-ever Int’l Qirat Competition Set to Begin in Islamabad


Islamabad: The first-ever International Qirat Competition is scheduled to take place from November 24 to 29 in Islamabad. The event marks a significant cultural milestone as it brings together over thirty-four Qaris from member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).



According to Radio Pakistan, the competition is being organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. Its primary objective is to promote the art of Quranic recitation while fostering interfaith and intercultural harmony among Muslim nations.



The event’s schedule includes Group-1 and Group-2 competitions, which will occur from November 24 to 27 at the Auditorium of the National University of Modern Languages in Islamabad. The competition will culminate in a prize distribution ceremony on November 29, held at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad.
