Islamabad: A fire that erupted near the boundary of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) in the area between Sector 0 and H-11, close to the Katchi Abadi, was swiftly contained, preventing any damage to university property or harm to individuals. The successful containment was a result of a coordinated effort between IIUI’s horticulture and security teams and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) fire brigade.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the blaze started at a considerable distance from the academic and administrative blocks. It was promptly addressed by the recently trained IIUI horticulture staff, who initiated firefighting measures using water bowsers in collaboration with the security section before the CDA fire tenders arrived on the scene.
The university administration, under the guidance of the Worthy President and Vice President, played a crucial role in preventing a major incident. The leadership expressed appreciation for the immediate response and efforts of the involved teams. Special commendation was given to the security section led by CSO and ASO, and the horticulture section under Mr. Altaf Burqi, Ms. Zara Shah, Superintendent P and D Ch. Asif, and Mr. Zawar Abbasi from the security section for their active management of the emergency. Dr. Inam ul Haq, Director Administration, supervised the operation on the ground, ensuring an organized response.
Gratitude was also extended to Mr. Zafar, Director Fire at the CDA, and his team for their timely assistance.
