Islamabad: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry announced that the Federal Government had supplied state-of-the-art bullet-proof vehicles to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. However, he expressed regret that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government declined to accept these vehicles due to political reasons.
According to Radio Pakistan, Talal Chaudhry highlighted that almost all federal ministers and high-ranking security officials utilize these vehicles, which cost approximately 100 million rupees each and meet international bulletproof standards. He reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism in Pakistan with the backing of its citizens.
The Minister of State criticized the actions of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), noting their recent march purportedly in solidarity with Palestine. He pointed out that the march failed to put forward any demands supporting the Palestinian cause. He further exposed the contradictions within TLP’s rhetoric, mentioning the discovery of 69 branded watches among their leaders and the identification of around one hundred bank accounts linked to TLP leaders, revealing substantial financial transactions and interest collections.
Chaudhry stated that the TLP leadership had gone into hiding, while their violent actions resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians, including a police officer. He warned that Pakistan could no longer tolerate the irresponsible behavior of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister or the extremist politics practiced by groups like TLP.
