Islamabad:The federal government has sanctioned the deployment of Pakistan Rangers in Islamabad and various districts of Punjab.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Interior Ministry issued a notification authorizing the deployment under Sections 7(b) and 10 of the Pakistan Rangers Ordinance, 1959, and Sections 4 and 5 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997. This decision follows a request from the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad and the Punjab government.

The Rangers are permitted to respond appropriately in self-defense to any threats or violent activities they may encounter during their duties, adhering to current rules and regulations.
