Islamabad: The Federal Cabinet, under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, convened in Islamabad to discuss the introduction of new currency notes designed to meet modern-day requirements. The initiative involves the expertise of international professionals to ensure the currency meets contemporary standards.
According to Radio Pakistan, the newly designed banknotes will be available in denominations of one hundred, five hundred, one thousand, and five thousand rupees. These notes will feature enhanced security threads to bolster anti-counterfeiting measures. The designs aim to capture the essence of the country's regional and geographical diversity, along with historic monuments. Furthermore, the notes will highlight significant social themes, including women's roles in national development and the issue of climate change.
The Federal Cabinet has set up a dedicated committee to deliberate on the designs of the new currency notes. This committee's formation marks a key step in finalizing the aesthetic and functional aspects of the new currency.
Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed the draft of the Private Hajj Policy 2027-2030, proposed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. The policy focuses on the registration and scrutiny of private Hajj operators via third-party evaluations. The proposal has been forwarded to the Hajj Policy Committee for further consideration, incorporating feedback from Cabinet members.
The Cabinet also ratified the decisions made during the Cabinet Committee on Energy meeting held on the 24th of the previous month. Furthermore, it approved the resolutions from the Economic Coordination Committee's meeting that took place on the 23rd of the last month.
