Faisalabad: At least 12 people were killed and many others injured in a factory boiler explosion in Malikpur area of Faisalabad today. According to rescue sources, the impact of the explosion was so severe that roofs of nearby houses collapsed. Rescue teams are working to extinguish the blaze and clear the rubble.
According to Radio Pakistan, nine individuals have so far been pulled out from the debris and shifted to a nearby hospital. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the boiler explosion at a chemical factory in Faisalabad today. In her condolence message, the Chief Minister extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls.
She also directed the Commissioner Faisalabad to submit a detailed report on the incident. Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that every possible measure will be taken to ensure justice for the victims and to prevent such tragedies in the future.
