Sialkot: Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif has declared that coordinated terrorist attacks have been carried out across Balochistan with a deliberate attempt to cause widespread bloodshed. Addressing a news conference in Sialkot, he highlighted these incidents as evidence of a clear nexus between India and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
According to Radio Pakistan, Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated that following the major setback India faced in May last year, such attacks are now being used to deliberately target civilian populations. He emphasized that these actions are intended to destabilize Pakistan just as the country, after enduring two years of economic hardship, is beginning to progress again.
The Defence Minister accused India and the BLA of attempting to push Pakistan back into economic darkness and undermine its national integrity. He reiterated that the BLA is recognized as a terrorist organization both nationally and internationally.
The minister expressed grave concern over terrorist organizations exploiting women and children. He noted that people facing poverty, unemployment, and economic hardship are being deliberately targeted by extremist networks.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated unequivocally that Pakistan is engaged in a long and decisive war against the BLA and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, with no sympathy or leniency for these groups. He warned that strict action will also be taken against facilitators of terrorism, who will meet the same fate as the terrorists themselves.
