Islamabad: Eight Arab and Islamic countries, including Pakistan, have issued a strong condemnation of Israeli actions at Al-Aqsa Mosque, Al-Haram Al-Sharif. The concerns center around the continuous incursions by settlers, led by extremist Israeli ministers, and the raising of the Israeli flag within the mosque's courtyards.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Foreign Ministers from Pakistan, Egypt, Turkiye, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia released a joint statement highlighting that these actions violate international law and United Nations resolutions. They emphasize that the activities disrupt the historical and legal status quo of the holy sites in occupied East Jerusalem.

The ministers expressed strong disapproval of the illegal actions and provocations by Israeli ministers and groups. They warned that such activities incite hatred and impede efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution based on a two-State solution.

They reaffirmed that Israel does not possess sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem or its religious sites. The statement emphasized the importance of preserving the historical and legal status quo, while recognizing the significant role of the Hashemite custodianship.

Furthermore, the ministers urged Israel to lift access restrictions to the Old City of Jerusalem and allow Muslim worshippers unhindered access to the mosque. They also called on the international community to take a firm stance against Israel's ongoing violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites.
