Islamabad: CEO of Pakistan International Airlines AVM Amir Hayat called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Saturday. The meeting focused on strategies to resume Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to the United Kingdom.
According to Radio Pakistan, the CEO of PIA expressed his appreciation for Ishaq Dar’s continued support, while also requesting further diplomatic assistance to expedite the process of resuming flights to the UK. He noted that significant groundwork was laid during the 2022-23 tenure of the PDM government, which allowed PIA and the Civil Aviation Authority to meet international requirements. This groundwork facilitated the resumption of PIA flights to the European Union in November of the previous year.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister assured that he and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are actively engaging with UK authorities to ensure the lifting of the ban as soon as possible.
