Vienna: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has stated that economic cooperation is the main driving force of Pakistan-Austria bilateral relations. He made these remarks while speaking at the Pak-Austria Business Roundtable held in Vienna.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need to harness the immense trade potential between the two countries, noting that the current bilateral trade volume does not truly reflect the potential of the Pakistan-Austria relationship. Dar pointed out that Austria is known for its technological excellence, advanced manufacturing, and green innovation, whereas Pakistan offers dynamism, scale, resilience, and a rapidly evolving economic landscape with significant potential.
Ishaq Dar highlighted that Pakistan, with its population of over 250 million, presents one of the world's most promising emerging consumer and production markets. He also discussed the structural economic reforms Pakistan has undertaken over the years, aimed at stabilizing the macroeconomic environment, improving fiscal discipline, enhancing transparency, and facilitating ease of doing business.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed that Pakistan views Europe as a vital economic partner and is keen on further diversifying exports, enhancing quality standards, and integrating more deeply into European supply chains. He voiced confidence that the discussions at the roundtable would lead to new business linkages, joint ventures, and partnerships, ensuring inclusive growth and sustainable development.
