ECC Allocates Over One Billion Rupees for Key Initiatives

Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has sanctioned over one billion rupees for a range of departmental initiatives.

According to Radio Pakistan, the ECC convened in Islamabad under the leadership of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, where it approved 100 million rupees dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals Achievement Programme. This funding will be executed through the Capital Development Authority.

The Committee also sanctioned 8.79 million rupees for the procurement of spare parts and routine helicopter maintenance under the Frontier Corps Balochistan for the current financial year. Furthermore, the ECC approved one billion rupees to ensure the continuity of existing scholarship programs and to launch new initiatives, including those aimed at out-of-school children.

Additionally, the Committee authorized the allocation of two consignments of relief goods, which include tarpaulin tents and winter clothing. These goods, previously confiscated by Pakistan Customs and now considered state property, are designated for the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan to support emergency relief operations in areas affected by calamities.
