DPM Warns of Strong Response to Attempts to Block Pakistan’s Water

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said Pakistan will give a befitting and most forceful response to any Indian misadventure in wake of the Pahalgam False Flag Operation. Addressing a joint news conference, along with Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Attorney General Mansoor Awan, he stated that diverting or stopping water will be tantamount to an Act of War. He emphasized that India can neither suspend the Indus Water Treaty nor hold it in abeyance.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar urged India to share any evidence it has with Pakistan or the international community. He asserted that Pakistan possesses concrete evidence regarding the presence of foreign nationals in Srinagar, who are carrying heavy equipment. Pakistan is ensuring strict surveillance of such activities, and its intelligence agencies have confirmed reports that the Indian intelligence is sponsoring these elements in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, an internationally recognized disputed territory.

The Deputy Prime Minister also stated that the Armed Forces of Pakistan are fully prepared to respond to any eventuality or adventurism. He assured that the entire political leadership of the country will be consulted on the latest developments, and everything will be shared with the parliament.

Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif highlighted that India is preparing to carry out terrorist activities in Pakistani cities and urban centers. He warned that Pakistan will retaliate strongly if its cities or nationals are targeted. He accused India of waging a low-intensity war against Pakistan, using BLA and TTP as proxies to carry out terrorist activities inside Pakistan. Additionally, he alleged India’s involvement in terrorist activities in Canada and the United States.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar stated that Pakistan has responded to India’s threats by escalating its stance. He accused India of using terrorism for political objectives at home. Attorney General Mansoor Awan clarified that India cannot unilaterally suspend the Indus Water Treaty and affirmed that Pakistan has all the legal options to counter any Indian move.
