DPM Reaffirms Resolve to Safeguard Country’s Sovereignty

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has extended warmest greetings and best wishes to the people of Pakistan and fellow citizens abroad on the joyous occasion of Pakistan's Independence Day. In his message, he said, as we commemorate our Independence Day, we pay tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, whose visionary leadership, unwavering resolve, and steadfast commitment transformed the aspiration for a separate homeland into reality.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar said we also honour the leaders and workers of the Pakistan Movement, whose courage, dedication, and countless sacrifices laid the foundations of our independent state. The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned the landmark Makkah Accord signed this year with Saudi Arabia and Turkiye, reflecting shared resolve to deepen strategic cooperation and strengthen collective security.

The Deputy Prime Minister spoke about the commemoration of the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, recalling Pakistan's response to Indian aggression in 2025. The occasion reaffirmed Pakistan's determination to safeguard sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, while remaining committed to international law and regional peace.

He paid tribute to the Armed Forces, police, and paramilitary forces of Pakistan, acknowledging their role as a bulwark of national security. The nation stands united with them, deeply grateful for their service and sacrifice.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan's commitment to peace, dialogue, cooperation, and mutual respect among nations. He highlighted the need for peaceful resolution of longstanding disputes, particularly the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, supporting the Kashmiri people's struggle for self-determination in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions.

In conclusion, he called for a reaffirmation of collective resolve to strengthen institutions, uphold national unity, and build a stronger, more prosperous, and peaceful Pakistan for future generations.
