Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has emphasized that Pakistan’s nuclear capability is intended for deterrence and serves the country’s security and regional stability. Taking the floor, he addressed concerns over AI-generated video clips on social media, which are spreading false and misleading propaganda.
According to Radio Pakistan, Dar refuted a circulating news report that quoted an Iranian General claiming Pakistan would attack Israel if it used nuclear weapons against Iran, labeling such reports as fake and misleading. He stressed the importance of vigilance against fake news and misinformation and clarified that Pakistan has never issued any such statement.
During the session, Dar informed the House that 251 Pakistani students had been evacuated from Iran, with over 500 pilgrims being managed. He updated that Islamabad has responded positively to Tehran’s request to facilitate the return of approximately 20,000 Iranian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia, offering them visas on arrival at Karachi airport. He also noted that Saudi Arabia has invited these pilgrims to stay in the Kingdom until the crisis subsides.
Responding to inquiries, Dar assured that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully aware and capable of responding to any misadventure, as demonstrated in the past. The House continued its discussion on the budget for the next fiscal year, with various members contributing to the debate.

Khalil Tahir Sandhu highlighted the relief provided to the public in the budget, noting positive growth in various sectors.
