DPM Ishaq Dar Heads to Cholpon-Ata for SCO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, following his visit to Manila, has embarked on a journey to Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic, to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Council of Foreign Ministers' Meeting.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar expressed his appreciation to the Philippine Government and the ASEAN Regional Forum team for their hospitality during his delegation's stay in Manila. As the leader of the Pakistan delegation, Dar will attend the two-day SCO-CFM Meeting commencing today. He is slated to engage in bilateral meetings with counterparts from other SCO member states on the sidelines of the main event.

The meeting will see the participation of Foreign Ministers from all SCO member states, including China, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The CFM is recognized as the third highest forum within the SCO framework, with a focus on issues concerning international relations, foreign policy, and security policies of the member states.

During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister is also expected to meet with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and conduct several bilateral discussions with his counterparts from the SCO member states on the sidelines of the meeting.
