Islamabad: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq visited the proposed routes of Muharram processions and Imambargahs in the federal capital. He was accompanied by SSP Operations Islamabad Muhammad Shoaib Khan, zonal SDPOs, and SHOs.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the DIG Islamabad conducted a detailed review of the security arrangements and instructed all officers deployed for security duty to remain on high alert. He emphasized that all procession routes must be fully cordoned off and that adequate lighting must be ensured.
The DIG stated that foolproof security arrangements are being implemented for Muharram processions and majalis and that strict compliance with the prescribed SOPs will be ensured. He further added that Islamabad Police is fully committed to providing comprehensive security during Muharram-ul-Haram. All necessary measures are being taken to promote inter-sect harmony and tolerance.
In line with the vision of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, efforts will be made to ensure religious harmony and maintain peace and order throughout Muharram in the federal capital.
