Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain says continuous innovation and development of Agricultural sector is indispensable for the economic stability of Pakistan. This was stated by him during a meeting with Florence Rolle, representative of Food and Agriculture Organization in Pakistan, who called on the Minister in Islamabad today. Issues related to food security and agricultural development were discussed during the meeting. The Minister informed the representative that role of Food and Agricultural Organization in Pakistan is very encouraging. He said Agriculture is key to prosperity, food security and socio-economic development in the country. Agriculture development is the solution to many economic problems being faced by the country. The Minister said development of Agriculture is the top priority of the government. He informed the representative that the Government has launched several programs to facilitate the farmers. He said the FAO can provide guidance to mitigate climate ch ange impacts on agricultural development and production. Speaking on the occasion, Florence Rolle said that the Food and Agricultural Organization will continue its support to advance the agricultural sector in Pakistan.
