Delivery Time for Normal Passport Reduced to 14 Days: Interior Minister

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced a significant reduction in the delivery time for normal passports, decreasing it from twenty-one days to fourteen days. This change aims to enhance the efficiency of passport issuance and improve public convenience.

According to Radio Pakistan, during a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi alongside Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary, several initiatives were discussed to streamline the passport system. One major initiative is the implementation of a fully cashless system in passport offices. This move is expected to eliminate the agent mafia and simplify the process for citizens by removing cash transactions.

Additionally, the Interior Minister has instructed officials to expedite the development of a system for issuing business passports. Enhancing the efficiency of the current system for doorstep delivery of passports was also prioritized during the meeting.

Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the importance of establishing a Passport Authority to further improve the passport system and ensure greater convenience for the public.
