Islamabad: The Ministry of Defence today issued an official notification appointing Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as the Chief of the Army Staff, while also serving as the Chief of the Defence Forces for a term of five years.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ministry of Defence also announced a two-year extension in the service of Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu.
