Death anniversary of renowned classical Urdu Poet, author and writer Ustad Qamar Jalalvi was observed on Thursday. His real name was Syed Muhammad Hussain. He was born in Jalali near Aligarh in 1887. After partition, he migrated to Karachi. Qamar Jalalvi is regarded as one of the best classical Urdu Ghazal poets. His major collections include Rashk-e Qamar, Auj-e-Qamar, Gham-e-Javedan and Tajalliyat-e-Qamar. He died in Karachi on this day in 1968. Source: Radio Pakistan
