Death Anniversary of Poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz Observed


Lahore: The 41st death anniversary of renowned poet and writer Faiz Ahmed Faiz was observed on Thursday. He was born in 1911 in Narowal and left a significant mark on Urdu literature through his influential literary work and poetry.



According to Radio Pakistan, Faiz was awarded Pakistan’s highest civil award, the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, in 1990 in recognition of his contributions to literature. He also received the Lenin Peace Prize in 1962. His poetry, which has been translated into several languages including Russian and English, continues to resonate globally.



Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s notable works include “Naqsh-e-Faryadi,” “Dast-e-Saba,” “Zindaan Naama,” and “Sham-e-Sheher-e-Yaaran.” He passed away on this day in Lahore in 1984, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and influence the world of literature.
