Karachi: The 45th death anniversary of renowned poet Athar Nafees was observed on Friday. His real name was Kunwar Athar Ali Khan. He was born in Jagner, Aligarh in 1933 and received his early education from Muslim University School Aligarh.

According to Radio Pakistan, later, his family migrated to Pakistan after the partition and settled in Karachi. His first collection of poetry was under the title of ‘Kalam’ while the second one was ‘Hum Surat Gur Kuch Khawbon Kay’. He died on this day in 1980.
