Hangu: The eleventh death anniversary of Aitzaz Hasan Shaheed, who laid down his life to stop the attempt of a suicide bomber from entering his school in Hangu, was observed today [Monday]. He became a national hero after he saved hundreds of lives on January 6, 2014, thwarting the terrorist attack.
According to Radio Pakistan, Aitzaz Hasan had grabbed the suicide bomber at the main gate to prevent him from entering the school. For his bravery, Aitzaz Hasan was posthumously awarded the Sitara-e-Shujaat.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has paid tributes to Shaheed Aitzaz Hasan on his martyrdom anniversary. In a post on his X handle, he said that the extraordinary courage of Aitzaz Hasan, a true son of soil from Hangu, stands as a beacon of hope and resilience. He noted that Aitzaz Hasan, at the age of fifteen, valiantly sacrificed his life to shield his school and classmates from a devastating attack. His selflessness and unwavering resolve remind us of the lasting impact a single act of courage can have on countless lives.
The Prime Minister said Aitzaz’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
