Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has announced that Pakistan is aligning its industrial policy, skills development, logistics, and education with regional market demands. He emphasized the country’s efforts in this direction while speaking at a conference in Islamabad on Thursday.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ahsan Iqbal detailed the focus of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on industrial cooperation and the establishment of special economic zones. These zones are designed to offer joint venture opportunities in sectors such as manufacturing, food processing, and logistics. He urged regional countries to connect their value chains with Pakistan’s special economic zones, explore cross-border industrial clusters, and leverage Pakistan’s Preferential Trade Agreements with China, ASEAN, and the Middle East.

Ahsan Iqbal also highlighted the expansion of visa facilitation for business and academic travelers, aiming to enhance cooperation and development within the region. The Minister’s remarks underscore Pakistan’s commitment to fostering regional economic integration and development through strategic partnerships and industrial advancements.
