COMSTECH and Russia Explore New Horizons in Science and Education Cooperation

Islamabad: The General Coordinator of COMSTECH, Professor Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Chaudhry, engaged in a constructive dialogue with the Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Albert B. Khorev, to explore avenues for enhancing cooperation in the realms of science, technology, and higher education. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, during the meeting at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Islamabad, both parties reviewed existing cooperation efforts and discussed future initiatives aimed at strengthening ties between COMSTECH and the Russian Federation. Professor Chaudhry highlighted COMSTECH's growing partnerships and recent memoranda of understanding with Russian universities. He also outlined plans for the upcoming Pakistan-Russia COMSTECH Forum for University Presidents slated for the coming year. Professor Chaudhry emphasized the potential for expanding collaboration in scientific projects, advanced research, technology transfer, and higher education. He proposed the introduction of dedicated programs th at would include fellowships, specialized training, expert exchanges, and joint research initiatives to benefit young scientists and researchers. Ambassador Khorev acknowledged the pivotal role of COMSTECH in fostering scientific diplomacy and enhancing cooperation between Russia and OIC countries. He expressed the embassy's support for the proposed programs and future activities involving Russian institutions. The ambassador underscored the significance the Russian Federation places on its relationship with COMSTECH as an observer state in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Both parties agreed to maintain close coordination, appointing contact points to ensure the timely implementation of the agreed initiatives.
