COAS Reiterates Resolve to Defeat Terrorism with Unity


Peshawar: Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, visited Peshawar today, where he was given a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security situation and the ongoing counter-terrorism operations targeting Fitna al Khwarij. The briefing was also attended by the Federal Minister of Interior and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On the occasion, the Army Chief said that any attempt to disturb the peace of the nation will be met with decisive and overwhelming force.



According to Radio Pakistan, General Munir praised the unwavering resolve and unmatched sacrifices of Pakistan Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, who have been instrumental in dismantling terrorist networks and thwarting their nefarious agenda. He expressed immense pride in the remarkable achievements of the security forces, citing their dedication and courage in degrading the operational capabilities of terrorist organizations both within and beyond borders.



The Army Chief highlighted that the forces have relentlessly pursued and eliminated key terrorist leaders, dismantled their infrastructure, and neutralized their cells, sending a clear message that terror has no place in the land. He stated that the ongoing war would be taken to its logical conclusion.



General Munir emphasized the relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies in ensuring the safety and security of citizens, foiling numerous attacks, and maintaining peace and order. He noted that every operation serves as a testament to the courage, professionalism, and operational readiness of the security forces who continue to thwart evolving threats posed by terrorists.



He reassured that hostile elements would be dealt with an iron hand and vowed that their capacity to inflict harm would be decimated. The COAS also lauded the exceptional morale of the troops, who remain steadfast in their commitment to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty.



In interactions with politicians from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, participants resolved to have a unified political voice and public support against terrorism. Political representatives expressed solid support for the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies in the nation’s fight against terror, agreeing on the need for a unified front beyond political affiliations against extremist ideologies.
