Rawalpindi: Executive Director of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Major General Ularbek Sharsheyev, met with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The meeting focused on the evolving security conditions in the region and strategies for enhancing counter-terrorism collaboration.
According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions between Major General Sharsheyev and General Mirza emphasized the dynamic security challenges faced by the region and explored ways to boost cooperative efforts to combat terrorism. General Mirza recognized the contributions of the SCO’s Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) in fostering regional cooperation against terrorism and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining peace at both regional and global levels.
Major General Sharsheyev commended the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
