Islamabad: A high-level Chinese delegation led by the Head of the Belt and Road Initiative of Yunnan Province, Deng Yubin, met with Minister for Board of Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, in Islamabad. During the meeting, discussions centered on Pakistan's potential in various sectors, particularly highlighting the country's mineral resources.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister for Board of Investment emphasized Pakistan's vast potential in minerals and mining, agriculture, digitalization, technology, and manufacturing. Minerals were identified as a priority sector in the discussions, indicating the government's focus on developing this area to attract international investment.
The Chinese delegation expressed a strong interest in the development of minerals in Pakistan, with a particular focus on copper and other strategic minerals. This interest is seen as part of broader cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, which aims to enhance connectivity and economic collaboration between China and countries along the initiative's routes.
