CDWP Approves Six Education Sector Projects Worth 19.253 Billion Rupees

Islamabad: The Central Development Working Party has approved six education sector projects, costing 19.253 billion rupees.

According to Radio Pakistan, the CDWP met in Islamabad with Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal in the chair and approved the establishment of Danish Schools in the districts of Qilla Saifullah, Sibi, Dera Bugti, Zhob, and Musakhel in Balochistan. It also approved the setting up of a Daanish School in Azad Kashmir.

All six projects will follow a 50:50 cost-sharing formula between the federal government and the respective provincial governments. Ahsan Iqbal commended the Government of Balochistan for providing land for the construction of a Daanish School and for agreeing to bear 50 percent of the project cost, setting a positive example for other provinces.

He stated that the initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision to expand access to quality education in underdeveloped districts. The Daanish Schools, originally introduced by the Punjab government, are among the largest networks of boarding schools in the country, offering free education to deserving boys and girls from marginalized communities. The Federal Government also plans to establish new Daanish Schools in underserved districts.
