CDA Planning to Establish Education City in Islamabad: Tariq

Islamabad: Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has announced that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is planning to establish an education city in the federal capital. This initiative aims to enhance the educational infrastructure in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, during the Question Hour in the National Assembly, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry revealed that in addition to the education city, the CDA plans to relocate over 300 schools from residential areas to designated sites outside these localities. This move is intended to alleviate congestion and ensure that residential areas are not disrupted by educational institutions.

Addressing concerns about the acquisition of Higher Education Commission's land in DHA-Margalla Enclave, the Minister clarified that the CDA has not acquired any land reserved for educational purposes in the society. This statement was made to dispel any rumors regarding the misappropriation of educational land.

In other developments, the National Assembly passed 'The National Command Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2026' and 'The Defence Forces of Pakistan Bill, 2026.' These legislative measures were approved as part of the ongoing session, marking significant progress in the country's legislative framework.
