126th death anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan observed

The 126th death anniversary of Pakistan movement leader, scholar, Philosopher and educationist Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was observed on Wednesday. Sir Syed is hailed as the father of the Two Nation Theory and one of the founding fathers of Pakistan, along with Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He was the founder of Aligarh movement which was the base of Pakistan movement. He died on this day in 1898 in Aligarh, India. Source: Radio Pakistan

Death anniversary of Haseena Moin observed

Third death anniversary of Pakistani dramatist, playwright and scriptwriter, Haseena Moin was observed on Tuesday. She was born on 20 November in 1941 at Kanpur, United Provinces of British India and after independence of Pakistan in 1947, migrated with her family to Pakistan. Haseena Moin wrote several plays for stage, radio, and television including 'Tanhaiyan', 'Ankahi' and 'Dhoop Kinaray'. Death anniversary of Master Inayat Hussain observed

31st death anniversary of legendary musician Master Inayat Hussain was observed on Tuesday. He was born in the Bhati Gate area of Lahore in 1916. Inayat Hussain was also a student of Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan of Patiala gharana. He composed unforgettable songs for 65 films in almost four decades long filmi career. 3rd death anniversary of Kanwal Naseer observed

The third death anniversary of Pakistan Television's first female announcer Kanwal Naseer was observed on Monday. Born in Lahore in 1948, Kanwal was the daughter of radio's legendary personality Mohni Hameed also known as Apa Shameem. The popular newscaster joined the media at the age of 17, remained associated with PTV and Radio Pakistan for five decades. She had various feathers on her cap as she was the first female anchor, first female newscaster, and first female announcer of Pakistan Television. Death anniversary of renowned musician Ustad Beebo Khan being observed today

Today is the death anniversary of renowned musician Ustad Beebo Khan of Sindh. His original name was Muhammad Ibrahim Qureshi. He was born in Shikarpur in 1904. Ustad Beebo Khan received his musical training from his father Ustad Gaman Khan, Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan and Ustad Murad Ali. He was well versed in his family heritage. With the passage of time, the fame of his singing began to spread far and wide. He started being invited to sing every month at All India Radio Bombay. Ustad Beebo Khan's students include Ustad Qudratullah Khan, Ustad Niaz Hussain, Ustad Fida Hussain Khan, Muhammad Hashim Kicchi, Hadi Bakhsh Khan, Mai Allah Wasai, Muhammad Saleh Sand and Allah Deno Noonari. Death Anniversary of actor Muhammad Ali commemorated

The 18th death anniversary of legendary Pakistani actor Muhammad Ali was observed on Tuesday . Mohammad Ali was born on 19th April 1931 at Rampur in India. He joined Radio Pakistan Hyderabad station as a broadcaster in 1956. Later, he moved to Radio Pakistan Karachi where its then Director General Zulfiqar Ali Bukhari became his mentor for his acting career. He started his film career in 1962. He was the lead actor and 'hero' in 94 films. He won ten Nigar awards in his career. He died on this day in 2006 in Lahore due to heart attack. Source: Radio Pakistan
