London: Britain has expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s initiatives to combat illegal immigration. This sentiment was conveyed by British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper and British Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Pakistan, Middle East, North Africa, and Afghanistan, Hamish Falconer, during their meeting with Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhary, in London.
According to Radio Pakistan, Hamish Falconer noted that positive outcomes are already being seen from a previous meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, held a few months earlier. This underscores the effectiveness of the collaborative efforts between the two nations in addressing immigration-related challenges.
Talal Chaudhary highlighted Pakistan’s comprehensive strategy focusing on border security, the fight against terrorism, and tackling human trafficking. He stressed the importance of measures to encourage legal and orderly immigration, which are crucial to the ongoing partnership between the UK and Pakistan.
In addition to the discussions with British officials, Talal Chaudhry also engaged in dialogues with interior ministers from Germany, Spain, Austria, and Poland. These meetings were aimed at exploring further cooperation on border security, showcasing Pakistan’s commitment to addressing global security concerns through international collaboration.
