Aurangzeb and Yousef Discuss Opportunities in Global Halal Economy

Islamabad: Secretary-General Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) Shaikh Yousef Hassan Khalawi met with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad today. The Finance Minister stressed the necessity of enhancing connections between Pakistan's business community and international business networks, focusing on potential collaboration through the Chamber's global outreach.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions centered around the expanding global halal economy and the opportunities it presents for Pakistan. Areas of focus included halal food, fashion, halal tourism, services, and other consumer markets, with an emphasis on moving beyond a broad halal concept to target specific products, sectors, and markets.

The conversation also explored ways to bolster Pakistan's Islamic finance ecosystem and foster collaboration with international platforms involved in Islamic economics and finance. Both parties acknowledged the importance of creating commercially viable opportunities and improving market linkages for Pakistani businesses.
