Aurangzeb Advocates for Formal Monitoring of Digital Assets

Islamabad: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has emphasized the importance of bringing digital assets under formal monitoring, highlighting the economic potential of Pakistan’s rapid adoption of virtual assets. He made these remarks during a consultative meeting in Islamabad, which he co-chaired with Chairman of PVARA, Bilal Bin Saqib. The meeting aimed to advance efforts on Pakistan’s National Digital Asset Framework.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions were centered on the next steps for building a secure, transparent, and innovation-driven digital asset ecosystem in Pakistan. The Finance Minister pointed out that establishing a regulated environment would promote market stability and encourage users to transition to licensed domestic platforms.

Chairman PVARA, Bilal Bin Saqib, also spoke at the meeting, underscoring Pakistan’s unique opportunity to shape global norms instead of merely adopting them. He emphasized the importance of coordinated engagement among regulators, banks, and global exchanges to achieve this goal.
