New york: At the United Nations, Pakistan has called upon the Human Rights Council to intensify its attention on human rights violations occurring in UN-recognized disputed territories, particularly those under extended foreign occupation. According to Radio Pakistan, Counselor Saima Saleem addressed the General Assembly during the presentation of the Report of the Human Rights Council. She emphasized that the right to self-determination is a fundamental principle of international law and morality. In her remarks, Saima Saleem also highlighted the increasing instances of Islamophobia, stressing that the Human Rights Council has a significant role in tackling this growing concern.
