Armed Groups of Banned Action Committee Disrupt Life in Rawalakot

Rawalakot: Armed groups of the banned Action Committee have made life miserable for the people of Rawalakot and surrounding areas.

According to Radio Pakistan, the spokesperson of Poonch Division Administration reported that armed members of the banned Action Committee have established blockades on all roads in Rawalakot and its surrounding markets, resulting in a shortage of food supplies. The committee has blocked roads by cutting down trees and placing rocks on the roads.

The spokesperson mentioned that drivers are afraid to transport food and essential commodities due to intimidation and humiliating treatment by the miscreants belonging to the banned committee.

The administration of Rawalakot confirmed that law enforcement agencies have begun clearing trees and debris to reopen the Bagh-Rawalakot route, which has now been cleared.

According to Rawalakot administration, traders and transporters can now bring food and other essential goods via the Kohala route. Efforts to clear other blocked routes are also underway.

The administration stated that identification of the miscreants through video footage is in progress, and action is being taken at every level against those who assisted them.

Law enforcement agencies have launched an effective crackdown against blackmailing, illegal possession of weapons, and road blockades by the banned Action Committee.
