APHC Voices Concern Over Illegal Arrests of Hurriyat Leaders in IIOJ&K

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian forces’ personnel have arrested at least 3,898 Kashmiris, including freedom activists and civilians, so far, this year.

According to Radio Pakistan, the mass arrests, carried out during house raids and cordon and search operations, are designed to instill fear and terror among the Kashmiri people and coerce them into abandoning their legitimate demand for the right to self-determination.

Meanwhile, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar expressed grave concern over the ongoing wave of arrests and illegal detentions of Hurriyat leaders. He asserted that New Delhi’s attempts to crush the Kashmiris’ unwavering quest for freedom through oppression and tyranny will never succeed.

He highlighted that APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, and other leaders are being targeted through continuous detention as part of a political vendetta. He urged the internation
al community to urgently take note of the increasing state terrorism and human rights violations committed by Indian troops in the occupied territory.
